One of the quiet pleasures of the Burnaby is how little you need the car. Distances below are rough walking times from the middle of the estate — useful if you're new here, or minding a visitor for the weekend.

Greystones DART & rail station
About 5 minutes' walk (400 m)
The end of the DART line and the reason the estate exists at all. Frequent electric services to Bray, Dún Laoghaire and Dublin city, plus Wicklow and Rosslare trains.

Most of the town's everyday healthcare sits along La Touche Road and the streets either side of it: pharmacies, GP practices, dental and physio clinics. The nearest hospital emergency departments are St Columcille's, Loughlinstown (about 15 minutes by car) and St Vincent's, Elm Park.

Greystones is well served for schools, and nearly all of them are walkable from the Burnaby: St Brigid's and St Patrick's national schools, Greystones Community National School, Temple Carrig secondary school and St David's Holy Faith. Places and catchments change from year to year — check directly with each school.
